The Club
What is Traveling Ashlar?
Traveling Ashlar is a monthly Masonic shirt club featuring limited-edition designs inspired by lodges, events, districts, fellowship nights, landmarks, and Masonic stories from across the Craft. Each month a new design is curated, produced, and shipped to active members — then it retires.
What do I get every month?
Each monthly release ships with three things:
- A premium Masonic T-shirt tied to that month’s lodge, event, or story.
- A collectible postcard with the story behind the design.
- A matching sticker for your case, cooler, toolbox, or lodge binder.
Plus free U.S. shipping on every box.
Are designs really limited?
Yes. Each design is only available during its release window and is never restocked. Once the month closes, the shirt retires — that’s what makes each month worth showing up for.
Can my lodge be featured?
Yes. We’re always looking for strong stories, historic buildings, unique fellowship events, and meaningful lodge traditions. Submit your lodge here and our curation team will review it for an upcoming release window.
Membership & Pricing
What is the price of the membership?
Plans start at $24.90/month with free U.S. shipping. Every monthly box includes the shirt, postcard, and sticker. Sizes 2XL and up have a small upcharge to cover material cost.
Save by paying ahead with a 6 or 12 month plan.
Can I change my shirt size or style?
Yes. Update your size or fit anytime in My Account before your next billing date and the change will apply to the next month’s release.
What are the shirts made of?
Short answer: Every Traveling Ashlar shirt starts as a premium retail blank from established U.S. suppliers (we regularly use lines from Next Level, Bella+Canvas, and Gildan, depending on color availability and the art file for that month). We choose blanks for soft hand-feel, printability, and how they wear in real life, then add our monthly lodge story art.
If you pick Lightweight you get a modern, easy-travel tee. If you pick Heavyweight you get a more traditional, beefy cotton tee with a roomier silhouette. Same membership, two different “vehicles” for the artwork.
1) Why blanks instead of mystery fabric?
Using name-brand blanks means predictable construction, consistent collars and hems, and fabric that is already tested for screen print and digital print. You are not getting a one-off no-label shirt; you are getting a shirt you could walk into a quality shop and recognize by fit category, with Traveling Ashlar artwork applied to it.
2) Lightweight tee (cotton / poly blend path)
- Fiber mix: Typically a cotton-poly blend engineered for softness and stability (less shrink than many 100% cotton tees if you follow care instructions).
- Hand-feel: Lightweight, slightly stretchy, “already broken in” feel straight out of the package.
- Fit profile: Slimmer, more contemporary cut; closer to the body without being a compression shirt.
- Best for: Hot lodges, packing light, layering under a jacket, or if you like a tee that drapes close and does not feel bulky.
- Print note: Art reads crisp on smooth jersey; colors stay vibrant with normal care.
3) Heavyweight tee (100% cotton path)
- Fiber: 100% ring-spun cotton for a softer hand than old-school carded open-end cotton.
- Hand-feel: Substantial, matte, classic tee texture; you feel the weight when you fold it.
- Fit profile: Roomier through the body and sleeves; more “workshop / weekend” than “gym slim.”
- Best for: Brothers who want an old-school tee presence, more structure under a blazer or flannel, or simply prefer all-natural fiber against the skin.
- Shrink honesty: 100% cotton can tighten slightly after the first hot wash; if you are between sizes, that is one reason we say “size up” on the guide.
4) How we choose each month
Color, inventory, and the specific garment style can shift slightly month to month, but we stay inside the same two lanes above so your choice at signup stays meaningful: lightweight blend vs. heavyweight cotton. If a release ever needs a substitute blank inside that lane, it will still match the category you selected.
5) Care (keeps the art and the shirt happy)
- Wash cold, inside-out, with like colors.
- Tumble dry low or hang dry; high heat is what ages prints fastest.
- No bleach; avoid ironing directly on the decorated area.
6) Sizes, measurements, and “which should I pick?”
Every brand runs a little differently by half an inch here or there. That is why we publish chest and length grids for both weights on our Size Guide. Use it like a tailor would: measure a tee you already love, compare to the chart, then choose weight + size in My Account before your next bill date if you need to adjust.
Bottom line: Lightweight = softer, slimmer, blend tee for easy travel. Heavyweight = thicker, roomier, all-cotton tee with classic body. Both are intentional, both are quality blanks, and both carry the same monthly story art.
Can I purchase retired shirts?
No. Once a shirt retires it’s gone for good. We don’t restock, reprint, or open a back catalog — that’s the whole point of being a member that month. View what’s already retired on the A.L. 6026 / 2026 Releases page.
Shipping & Delivery
When can I expect my monthly delivery?
Production begins after the monthly window closes (the 1st of each month). Most U.S. orders arrive within 7 to 14 business days after shipping. We start shipping by the 25th of the prior month for active members.
How are the shirts delivered?
We ship via USPS First Class / Ground Advantage from our U.S. fulfillment partner. You’ll receive a tracking link by email as soon as your box leaves the warehouse.
Do you ship outside the USA?
At launch we’re U.S. only so we can keep shipping free for every member. International shipping is on the roadmap as the club grows — drop us a note if you’d like to be the first to know when it opens up in your country.
Gift Memberships
Can I gift a membership?
Yes. Gift memberships are available in 6 and 12 month lengths. Pay once up front, no auto-renewal, no surprise charges to the recipient. Send a gift membership.
How does the gift work?
After purchase, the recipient gets a redemption email (or a printable card you can hand them) with a code to redeem their subscription, choose their size, and confirm shipping. The first release ships in the next monthly window.
Do I need the recipient’s size or address to buy a gift?
No. You can send a gift without knowing their size or address. They’ll choose everything when they redeem the code — great for surprises, lodge raffles, and Masonic Mentor / Brother gifts.
Can I send multiple gifts?
Yes. You can purchase as many gift memberships as you’d like, one at a time, under the same email. They’ll be collected under one account so you can manage and re-gift down the road.
Lodges, Stories & Submissions
What kinds of lodges and stories are featured?
Anything worth wearing — historic lodges, unique degrees (think Battlefield, Outdoor, Table, Traveling Man), district events, regional Grand Lodge moments, and Brothers’ stories that should be told. We curate one new story per month from across the world.
Does featuring a lodge cost the lodge anything?
No. Featured lodges pay nothing. We design, produce, and ship the release at our cost. The lodge gets recognition on the postcard, the lodge map, and inside our community of members.
How do I submit my lodge or event?
Head over to Suggest A Lodge and tell us the lodge name, jurisdiction, story, and (if you have it) photos or a contact at the lodge. Strong stories with historic depth or a unique degree get prioritized.
